Exoside has released QuadRemesher, a new automatic retopology plugin for 3ds Max, Maya and Modo. Essentially QuadRemesher will process the source mesh by converting triangles or any non-quad polygons into an evenly spaced quads. The flow of edges in the new topology can be controlled by material boundaries, smoothing groups or surface normals. Drawing guide curves by hand is already in future roadmap.

Maxime Rouca, the guy behind Exoside, is not a newbie in developing retopology tools. He is one of the experts involved in developing technology behind ZRemesher, ZBrush’s retopology toolset, along with the software’s Decimation Master plugin.
